as in the next few weeks so im not freezing my butt off! ill get the parts this weekend and order some tie rod ends too. then ill tell my dad weve got our work cut out for us.

I happen to know that an XJ will bounce off and keep going like nothing happened. Hit it flush sideways so you don't crumple your front end.

Kinda off topic but...

If a I trade a guy my 94 GMC 1500 for a Cherokee, with a tax lean on the title, is that legal?

I just want it for parts. So I wouldn't be registering it or anything. Since its a tax lean though and the govt "owns" it am I receiving stolen property?

No, it's not theirs to sell. Anyone with a lein on a title can swoop in and repo the XJ and you'd be XJ- and GMC-less, leaving you to chase down the PO to get your truck or money back. At least that's the way it works up here.
