I was gonna use some Krylon fusion flat black paint. It chemically bonds to the plastic.

Problem is getting it clean enough to paint over after you do use it.

Yea but its a huge pain to paint over it, even years after it was applied.

I used the heat gun trick on my g/fs XJ. Looked good till the corners started pealing up. I suspect I used too much heat.

What should I use to re-attach the corners?

not to be redundant but i do this stuff for a living..the trim black will bond to the plastic and it has the perfect factory "not too flat, not too shiny" look.. a heat gun to me is like shaving with a straight razor it can be done but you'll get a safer better result with a newer style razor in short there is WWAAAYYY to much room for error with the heat gun
