Can someone also explain how to get at the bulbs/lights in the transfer case? Do you actually have to remove the whole center console to get at them? I know for the tranny you can just pop off the piece of plastic but it doesn't seem like you can do that with the transfer. I've got a 99 btw

Pop the plastic cover off, remove OEM light, put in new light, snap plastic cover back on. Takes like 5 seconds.

No problem, if you need some more help just post up. I just did a full exterior LED swap this afternoon. Just only bulb left to do is main dome and I'm just too lazy to go buy a solder kit.

I probably will end up having some questions since I'm learning as I go. This looks to be a pretty easy mod though so we'll see.

For sure, it took me a bit to get confident that I had ordered all of the correct bulbs and low and behold every single one I ordered was a direct fit with 0 modification required.

Well, since it seems like you know what you're doing would you rather get t5's or the 74's for the gauge cluster?

Could someone who's done this post up a pic of the exact LED they used for there gauge cluster I used 5, 74's in mine. With 3 small leds on each light and I have 2 dimmer spots on the gauge cluster. Not to noticable. But enough to get under my skin

Direct plug and play. I have to check the one that is behind temp gauge as its been out for a while.

I just ordered

5 74's for my gauge cluster: http://www.vleds.com/blue-3-led-wedg...74-1-pair.html

and

2 194's for my tranny/transfer: http://www.vleds.com/blue-high-power...21-1-pair.html

I'll be posting how everything works out.

For those of you still interested here's my interior:

XJ Dash Lights Mod-alt8hzs.jpg

They're in the Cool White color.

The temp gauge light needs to be fixed/reseated and the indicators are semi-lit after my relay swap and LED change for the exterior.

Anyone know for sure what bulbs fit in the 2000-01 overhead consoles? I expect to receive mine soon and want to order the bulbs for it when I buy the dash and other bulbs.

Thanks for any help

Found it.... post number 377 on page 26 has the owner manual info. It looks like they are 912, whatever that means. :-)
