It was a dealer installed accessory. I snagged one at the junkyard.

Very nice jeeps!
I like how this post got turned into a "I don't like them" thread.....lol, typical. They actually DO serve a purpose.......

Ah, I completely missed this.

I believe that was a part that was included in the Orvis package.

haha, I came late in the game. I’m surprised you replied to me. I’m restoring my grandpa jeep, and he has that same plastic deflector but his got broken. So please check if you still have it in ur barn and if it’s turn to be a genuine Mopar part in mint condition, I would gladly buy it from you. It’s black plastic, right?

I'm not the one that posted having it... Just pointing out the timeframe in case you missed it and expected a reply... Look closely, the one you show isn't like the above pieces.. The factory accesory part was more like a pedistal spoiler and didn't fasten on the ends..Finding one to fit your existing hatch holes will be a tough job... Most like that {plastic} didn't survive back there...I"ve had them on K5 blazers/GMC Jimmys but those were there because the rear window dropped into the tailgate...And without them you got a dose of exhaust fumes every time you tried to run with the back window down...

HA, I do still have it. It’s aluminum, pedestal mounted. The one you posted looks like a bug deflector for a front end.

Default Is this Mopar rear air controller by Deflecta shield?

Hello sir, may I ask do you still have the part? Because I’m interested buying it. I inherited my grandpa ‘93 Cherokee Limited and my air deflector is broken, I want to restore it as it was. And I was wondering is yours the rear air deflecta shield brand? Is it ABS plastic? Does it look like the one in attachment photo below? The Jeep brings alot of good memories to me and I have to bring it alive again. Sorry for my english

I have to admit I would like to install one on my 99 Chevy Tahoe because it doesn't have rear wipes. I other words It's you vehicle, Install it if you want it.

My answer to the original question is "yes" because I have an Orvis & it was part of the package. I mention that because it is obviously OEM - & doesn't look anything like those that appear in earlier posts; nor does it negate the need for a rear wiper!
