XJ Front wheel hub hearing *** replacement.
Tools.
Ratchet
Grease
fine Scotch brite
Impact guns (ratchet with pipe works best)
Hammer
Flat head
Small metal wedg
12,13 & 36 mm sockets
First jack up and remove wheel.
Next remove break caliper and sit on control arm. Remove rotar and sit aside.
Next remove cottor pin and nut cap. I used a flat head screwdriver stuck in the loop of the pin and tapped down with a hammer.
After breaking my S.O.G multi tool.
Next remove axle nut with 36mm socket and your impact gun of choice.
Next removed the back three nuts with a 13mm socket and a breaker bar or a ratchet with a pipe over it and some asspower. Impact gun just don't cut it.
Ratchet and a pipe won this battle.
Next remove the hub without dropping your axle. This was tricky for me it was on there good. I beat around the stud disk till I got a gap then hammered in a wedge, don't mess up your break shield doing this. Finally it came free.
Next wile its off clean the seat with some stoch brite and grease the axle splines.
Put on the new hub and tighten the back bolts to 75ft lbs and the center nut to 150ft lbs. Replace the nut cap and coter pin.(sorry got lazy on pix It was 101° when I did this)
Torquin the rear.
Put breaks back together, reinstall tire and drop back down for a test drive. (no pix)
If all is well clean up tools and go enjoy a shower beer.
Hope this was helpful, my first tec write up be kind.
(I'm no pro if you **** something up following my instructions its on you)
