XJ HO conversion
Hey guys lol well i was a genius and blew my head gasket on my 92 XJ. So i was wondering if it would be better to rebuild and keep my XJ or get my dads 87 XJ. If i get my dads 87, what parts would i have to buy to make it a High Output like my 92. I know the injectors and maybe ECU and possibly the throttle body but what else? thanks for the help guys!
EDIT, also what parts should i strip from the XJ if i can do a conversion? I'm taking my lift and all my control arms and tires but maybe parts like my alternator and things like that?

i know the head is easy and cheap but it has 260k miles on it and its starting to poop out on me with drive train issues and steering/suspension issues. the body has went to hell and my dad is selling his 87 for $500, it is in perfect condition and only has 3k miles on the freshly rebuilt 4.0. I'm just trying to figure out what i need to do to have the best vehicle that will last me the longest. My current XJ has been nothing but issues, which is fine and all but maybe i need to just cut my losses at this point just please help me out

I know that this is not what you are asking but I thought I would throw it out there. I recently found coolant in the oil of my wifes car, a 99 suzuki esteem. While I was deciding what to do I though i would try out a bottle of bars leaks head gasket fix. (There is actually supposed to be some better products for this out there but this particular one could be added directly to the coolant and was available at the auto part store.) I would normally NEVER do this but I wanted to give it a try and I don't see why not if it is a last resort type thing. The car really is not worth putting a new motor in it and I was reluctant to just change the head gasket because it was driven a couple hundred miles with coolant in the oil (I noticed the problem when we were 150mi away from home and just said screw it and drove it home) so I really didn't trust the bottom end anymore.
Well that was 3 months ago and almost 4,000 mi ago. Surprisingly It bought me some time. It runs the same as it did before, which is pretty damn good considering the fact. Of course I also did multiple, very low mileage, oil changes to flush things out right away. So I just thought I would throw this out there as an idea, for what it's worth...
