XJ for SPEED anyone??

Any of you built or building a XJ for speed. I've got access to a 440mopar I'm thinking about putting in an 88 pioneer. I've built mopar muscle all my life and for some reason I've got an itch to merge the two ideas. 4X4 of course, but setup a little stiff, to handle the weight and higher rpms.

I am wondering about stress issues with the unibody, wheel hop and other subjects.

If that is a plan start reading any thing you can find about Jeep Speed. It was started around XJ's and going fast in them through the Desert..

no way a 440 will fit

It'll fit, there's a guy on www.Silverlake.com that has one with a 454 in it...

Man I love your kind of thinking!!! Yeah, get information from the guys at Jeep Speed who build the BAJA XJs. You will need to strengthen that unibody frame everywhere you possibly can and as much as you can. Put D60s under it front and rear with 4 link set ups and you shouldn't have to worry about wheel hop or breakage.
You have got to post pics as soon as you do this awesome engine swap, if you end up doing it. A 440 in an XJ, I do love how gearheads think.
I love logging on to this site everyday. Somebody comes up with a newer and more crazy idea to do to an XJ.
