Dirty connections = weird symptoms. (Especially on grounds.)
One thing that trips a lot of folks up when doing electrical troubleshooting is the idea that a connection is either good or bad. Actually, a connection can be partial, and when that happens, things can get very confusing.
Maybe we should all just adopt the idea of starting any troubleshooting by doing a good contact cleaning in the PDC! Easy to do - just pull a relay or fuse out, spray with a good contact cleaner, shove it back in, rinse, repeat.
And if you're really smart, you'll pull them all out at the same time so you can have a fun guessing game when it's time to put them back!
Don't take the fun out of it by doing them one at a time!
