I think I'm going to throw a ratchet strap around the trans and cross member and see if that changes anything first.

Here's how much space should be there

This is from the back, you can jack up the exhaust and put a block between the little square part and the crossmember. That will lift your exhaust off the crossmember and you can see if it still makes noise and vibrates. This is for test only and I do not recommend driving around for a while like this

Got it fixed. Was a combination of the trans mount and the ujoint at the rear axle.
