Default problems suck

try looking at the computar control fuse. mine was acting like that until i changed the fuse i think its a 20 or 30, its the bigger ones, but mine had two fuse one small one big the larger one blew once and i stalled at a intersection the second time the fuse didnt look bad but i replaced it anyway and it started right up. I'd check those

Mine is located on the leftside facing the front, theres a fuse box next to the coolant tank.

yeah that was one of my first thoughts. but one of the ground straps blew. it goes from the back of the block to the cauling or where the wipers are hidden under. so that lead me to think the CPS was blown too. so i checked it and it was all fine. but i went to the junkyard and got another one, but its taking a sort-of risk because it could be broken also. but i did check the grounds. didnt trace them, cuz they are wraped in the plastic cover stuff. but im also looking into the computer but cant figure these out, where, what wires go where. even with a book on the cherokee. good thing i got this cherokee forum. and thanks for the help so far.

X 2 on it being a fusable link somewhere near the battery. There are a lot of wires all around the battery going to it. Check them all starting from the battery and tracing them to their other end. I gurantee you will find a burnt fusable link right there at the battery somewhere. They are designed and installed for just this sort of thing. If nor for your fusable link your entire wiring harness in your Jeep would have melted down when you slammed your hood on the battery terminals.

What were you doing that you needed the cables disconnected. Have you tried to start it in neutral yet. Could be your N.S.S. I would also try a starter but they are hard to come by at junkyards. Sometimes they will still turn over but still be bad.

hey all i figured it out. it was the base plate thingy under the coil. i went down to the local junkyard and finally found one, i wasnt guna buy a new one. its like $115. but found one put it in and started right up. but now theres a few problems. got a bad exsuast leak right at the end of the manifold and got a fuel leak for some reason...idk how i got it. but its the main line that runs in to the pressure reg in the front of the fuel rail. so i got to fix that...but at least i got it started and have a heading. thanks for all to help, make suggestions. it difinatly helps most the time. ill try to keep it updated on whats goin down. i might need some more help later.
