finally got time to throw up a short update.
put some new seats in
trimmed up the front bumper finally
welded on my front HD Engineering frame stiffeners
added a few windshield supports
built a trac bar for the front to save my leaf spring bushings and to help the steering from pushing against the frame too much. built it with ruff stuff specialties frame and axle mounts and their 7/8ths heim joints
i went on the Oktoberfest run to Evans Creek the other weekend and the jeep performed beautifully! no issues at all! didnt get many pictures at all really
coming down the 519 rock face
me and Tim (cherokeefever)
thats probably all my modifications for a while. most of the local wheeling areas are closed for the winter around here and i might be getting laid off soon so i wont be doing much to the jeep at all

Well on our last trip out my dad rolled his jeep pretty bad and broke his neck. I wont go into detail about that accident but he will heal up in about 4 months.
But on that trip i bent another leaf spring... That makes 4 total that i have bent. So i decided ive had enough fun with the leafs and its time to 3 link. I have no complaints about leafs at all except how easy it is to bend them.
So i ordered a bunch of heims and bushings and went out and picked up steel for a crossmember and links. Heims and brackets should be here tomorow. I started the crossmember and will post pictures of it later

Ouch, that's no bueno. I hope one day when i roll mine, it doesn't hurt too bad.
Looking forward to seeing the 3 link come together. When I 60 the front of mine it will definitely be getting a 3 link.

Well he barrel rolled 3.5 times down a hill in a cj5. Look up "cj5 rollover" on youtube. Hes the yellow cj in the snow
Im excited to get the 3 link done cuz the front suspension has been my weakest link. Its gonna be a while before i finish it because i have to wait for the FOA coilovers to start bring produced again

so far he is recovering very fast so its all looking good!
heres a few updated pictures
the pile of steel i got. 6ft of 2"x1/4" DOM for the two lower links, a piece of 2"x4"x3/16" rectangular tube for the new crossmember, a sheet of 1/4" plate for misc mounts, 10' of 1.5"x.120 tubing for coilover hoops. im still waiting to buy a piece of 1.5"x1/4" DOM tubing for my upper link
my heims and a few mounts came today. im using 7/8s RuffStuff Specialties heim joints for the lower frame side, 3/4 heims on the upper link, and bushings on the lower axle end
started building my crossmember
holes for mount started
using all my own designs on this suspension build. a lot of custom fab will be involved. i also picked up a AC pump bypass pulley so i can pull out my AC unit for more room to move things around in the engine compartment to fit the coilovers. gonna have to more quite a bit of stuff around in the engine bay

Ha thanks man! I try to keep it interesting. Its not your normal everyday build and thats the way i like it. Hope it gives others ideas on their own builds!

started building the crossmember
holes drilled for the mount
the crossmember will bolt to these overhanging pieces of 1/4" plate which have gussets going to the frame rails.
where the upper link will mount
view from the front
crossmember almost done
