finally got everything done today! the only thing left is my front driveline and it will be back from the shop on monday.
the crossover bar is bent and welded in place. i painted up everything, added some stickers, and put the engine bay back together for the final time
while i was out working in the shop my dad decided to take his new jeep for a spin...
haha for those of you that heard about my dads rollover accident, he is doing awesome. he is out of his halo finally and into a soft collar for a couple months. his new jeep is coming along also. hoping to have it all done by summer

i welded the crossbar straight to the shock hoops. later on if i ever need to pull the motor i will add some flanges so i can bolt and unbolt the crossbar on the sides. but at the moment i figured directly welded would be stronger than bushings.

Hey Kid the new coilovers look pretty sweet!! Looks like the old man and the old man's Jeep are coming along nicely, too.

so i got a call from the driveline shop that was supposed to be lengthening my front driveline this morning and they said the driveline i took them is destroyed beyond repair. splines totally gone, cv toast, and so on. sooooo i think i will be ordering a woody for the front to match the woody i have in the rear. so it will be a few more weeks until she is trail ready. which is ok because the 4x4 swap meet is coming up and i want to pick up a few extra things. i also will be picking up a pair of front full doors that i am going to cut in to half doors. this whole running in the winter with no doors is a bit colder than first anticipated haha

All i can say is wow! You have an amazing jeep. I can only hope that my xj turnes out to be something close to yours! Great build!
Oh and for it being black!

so since the driveline i had planned on getting lengthened was crap... i decided to upgrade i ordered up a lengthened Tom Woods driveshafts for the front with lifetime warranty on the shaft and joints. only $304 shipped to my door. not bad for lifetime warranty!
i also picked up a set of front doors for the jeep and started cutting them up to make half doors. last night i actually finished all the welding on the drivers side. just need to sand the door down and paint it then start on the other side.
at the swap meet a few days ago i picked up a DIY beadlock kit for my spare tire, a nearly brand new 35x12.50 KM2 spare tire (old one has hole in sidewall), and a set of 5 17x8 8 lug steel wheels. the wheels i will be buying weld on beadlock kits for and then selling my current mtrs and beadlocks in order to buy new 37x12.50 kevlar mtrs

Nice half door work. The only thing about your Jeep I wasn't jealous about was how was how cold you looked on some of our winter wheeling trips. Those should help out quite a bit. You gonna do half doors for the back too just to finish off the look?

haha i thought i could brave the cold but F*** it im a ***** lol i dont know about the back doors. maybe if i can find a deal on a set like i did the front then probably. but i am getting a button on "wind jammer" made to button onto the cage behind the front seats to close off the seats from the back to keep some more heat in and the wind out. but it will be able to be pulled off during the summer
