Hey sorry I didn't get to you in time. My dad/grandfather just did that one about two weeks ago. It was pretty muddy and they had a great time. Go to Utica- From there you need to go to the "Judith River Ranger Station". This is really the only map I can find of it (ranger station). http://www.recreation.gov/camping/map_of_Judith_Guard_Station/r/campgroundMap.do?camparea=82270821&contractCode=NR SO&parkId=75293
The trail head is about 2 miles north of the old ranger station (which you can rent for the night... has beds/fireplace etc. there are 3 trails in the area) They just opened it back up after being closed for 20 years. Ill try to find you some better directions.

Hey man I live in Frenchtown (in between Missoula and Alberton) try these guys out: http://www.montanabackroads.org/ It is cheap to join and they are real active in our area. Unfortunately most of the trails in this area have been closed recently. That being said, come snow fall there is plenty of fun to be had. my number is 406-891-0217. Send me a txt sometime (work full time/school so probably wont answer a call) and maybe I can get some time off to show you some areas.

I'll be sinking in about 2-3k into the jeep during the winter so when summer time hits I'm down to hit up some trails with anyone really.
I thought there weren't any good trails near us too, but I met some good buddies here since arriving at Malmstrom and there are a -****- ton of seasonal roads/public roads that lead up into the mountains and get pretty interesting that we've since found. My favorite trail is around 45 minutes from base.

Anybody near missoula area know where or anyone I can borrow a flat bed or tow dolly from to get my Jeep from Ritzville,WA to here before winter starts to really hit? My head gasket is blown but I really want to get it here so I can at least start ripping apart the engine during the winter months. I can pay a little money or give something as collateral.

Maybey uhaul if you can front the money. Looking online the auto/transport trailers are like 50 bucks per day. Dollies are cheaper but youde have to remove driveshaft (says FWD only). Being as its like a 3hr drive, should be doable. I don't know of anyone that would let ya take one. Sorry!

Lol found this one on CL. All you would need is a chainsaw and a truck. And a lot of time lol.

I thought about doing the dolly and wouldnt mind taking of my driveshaft, my jeep probably wont be doing alot all winter, I wanna rip apart my engine. My biggest issue is the money lol Seems like no matter what I do, i spend more money on my XJ then i ever have on myself haha
