Just a quick question. My radiator is starting to separate. the side tank and the cooling fins. Leaks quite a bit when it had the glycol in it. But since it drained out i have just been replacing it with plain water. now after the 4 hrs of driving and 2 gallons of water i've replaced it with it just steams out now. What kind of problems could i run into if i just run it that way for now till it really takes a dump. I'll be keeping a close eye on the temp guage till i get the funds to replace it with.

yeah, the temp gauges can lie too...

When my freeze plug blew and dumped all of my coolant over the course of two minutes, my temp gauge didn't do a dang thing... The only reason I knew was because I came to a stop and the motor died and PPPsssshhhhhhh, huge cloud of steam.

Don't trust the temp gauge, just get a JY radiator if you can, and flush that sucker good...

I hope you don't plan on driving your jeep!

I meant to flush the JY rad. if you get on (which you should...). But it would be good to flush the rest of the system also, lol.

I don't know if you have tried these guys but I have purchased several parts from them: www.rockauto.com

Good stuff if you know what you want, they often give you quality selection depending on how much you want to spend. I always price match with them before going local. Unless there is an unknown issue that may require me to return the part, then I definitely go local- just easier.

Try craigslist on the rad as well tankerblade, I've had good luck finding parts there too.

I had asked earlier, and maybe it didn't get caught in my babble....
But, can a stocker go to Chiva?
How far out of Tucson is that?
