would love to but cant oh also found out i bent my the carrier for my CV, when i dropped my drive shaft. Drive line shop wanted 180 to rebuild the CV and put in a new carrier but did a little research and found out that you can take a carrier from the front drive shaft of an xj and use that so now its just a trip to pick a part.

Dude let me know when you are going or are about to go. I need to pick up a front drive shaft too.
AZBOY:
So what time would you like to do a thursday run. I'm down on going as long as I don't run all night, tonight. I get off at 6am thursday.
Oh yeah BTW I got 33's coming monday for my jeep. so i will be doing a little modding, fender trimming. maybe buy longer shocks and make some coil spacers and some blocks. so if anyone is thinking about adding another inch or two. let me know i'll make'em.

i just got back from a little run around the area between vistancia and carefree highway, nothing really too special, i hit one REALLY narly spot, but luckily pushed through. i actually ran into a cop when i got near the end of the trail, he said there are some old mines and shacks out in the area, i must have missed them though. anyone that has free time to run around those areas let me know. i can always find time for a trip.
anyway i know this might be a little off topic, i failed emissions a few weeks ago, turns out my catalytic converter was hollowed out by a previous owner, so i replaced it and ran through again only to find out that my emissions actually got worse, the guy at the testing facility told my i need to break in the cat for it to work, has anyone heard about this before? and how many miles do i need to put on it? i have been racking them up but i'm not sure how many i need to do. also does the old alchohol trick work with a fuel injected motor? my previous rigs all had carburators....

i don't doubt it that you have to break it in i got a glass pack and it sounded way different after about 100 miles so i mean it could be the same. As for the alcohol i have no idea if it would work might give it a try.

so switched out that CV carrier and now my drive shaft is completely and now i drilled out the bolts for my rear axle yoke and i figured it was a good time to up grade so i am going to drill them completely out and swap over to u bolts instead of u joint straps. Than i will strip my cars interior and fix my floor pans than i am hopefully going to start my chop top

my jeep is totally chopped, all i have to say is that it is definitely a commitment and has its pros AND cons. it draws a lot of attention but your stuck out in the elements which can SUCK. plus its a million times harder to clean. last time i went muddin i spent 12 dollars at the pay and spray with the pressure washer and its still dirty.
but its fun when the weather is right. and it makes cage installation much easier. and its a pretty tough look.
heres what mine looks like

yours is sick i am doing my a bit different though i am just cutting off the back and than i am going to re seal it in the back. Than to a high fender cut in the rear quarter and box in a new fender well. Than take a tail gate from either a Comanche or cj and put that on than build my cage and than do my rear 4 link so i got some work ahead of me this will probably all be done in a come of years considering i have to be able to drive it while i do most of the work

flip it might save you some grief to do the cage before you close in the new rear part of the cab on, that is unless your doing some sort of exo cage.
oh and i went to emissions again today, put a gallon of denatured alcohol in the tank, still failed but im way closer to the numbers i need to be at. so im thinking maybe replace the oxegen sensor?
