That was for a new carrier for the rear, gears, shp materials and labor. I had the lockers and install kits already. 4-wheel parts wanted to charge almost $1700 to do what Scott did.

I talked to my dude who does vinyl. He can do it like it but he doesn't have the cut for an XJ. Only for lame *** wranglers....

did you buy all of the parts you needed from him? if so how much do you think he would charge for just labor and i provide the parts

x2 i replaced the clutch in my last xj, i was kinda nervous about doing it but it wasn't too bad. never done gears though but there are plenty of writeups on gear changes.

i was actually thinking that but i dont have the precision tools needed to do somthing like that i really want to learn how to though

If your going to be re gearing I wouldn't do it by yourself. It's not easy first time and not hard to screw up. If you guys wanna learn I suggest get help from someone who knows their axels. I see people post on here all the time about doing the gear themselves and watching videos on how to sites and screwing it up. It's something that would be cool to learn just make sure you learn it from someone is all I suggest.

I got my bud that done this own gears that showing me how to do mine and he works thru the dealership so he has all the tools and everything. Gears and valve bodies are the only thing that I don't know how to do very good.

i am i have til i get the 98 registered and insured then im going to start modding. I want to stick with a 4.5", 5.5" at the most(right now) and go long arm.

went to upull this morning got a radiator,radiator support, the frame piece i needed and a hood. got the frame mounted and the damage is off the jeep. mounted the radiator and learned we need to pull the frame about 1 inch to the drivers side. we have a puller too now all i need is my front header panel, washer bottle, and fender. ill post pics later
