I think the one with pucks only was red and the other one was a gray two door with a windshield visor

I've done it before. It's easy as hell. Just get a cluster with close miles, and swap em out. Plug and play. The TJ setup is just as easy. No extra Tach wires.

There's a few differences with the 97 and 98 XJ clusters, go with 99+ XJ for your 99 XJ and remember the mileage stays with the cluster so get one that's close to yours or get it flashed by a company.
