Go to trans star and get the kit. Is it for the the case you just got? What's wrong with it?

Hey guys! I'm a newbie to the site looking for a tastefully modded 96-01 XJ. By tastefully I mean 3inch lift and 31's and I'll be happy. I've looked at a few older (91-94) XJ's but I'm not wild about the interior. I'm going to go look at a stock 2001 XJ with over 200k miles for $2k. I'm a little hesitant to get it because of the miles, but I've heard these 4.0's can last forever. If you guys know of any good deals out there, please let me know.

Thanks!

Well there is a 94 with 174k that's it part out and for sale whole you that for I think he was selling it for like 1500 then a 5 inch rough country lift in Santa Fe from 400 then a set of 30 with eccos wheels 5 for 600 so you'll be at about 3000. But then gotta address other issues sye or tcase drop and regearing possible.

99-01 had head cracking issues plus its coil pack firing and when it acts up its not cheap to fix vs just changing wires plugs Cap and rotor. Low pinion axle can give problems mostly vibration. And possible getting a Dana 35 vs a Chrysler 8.25. The 35 will have ABS, 8.25 wont. Plus side to both can upgrade to rear disc for pretty cheap. I might be missing more but that's all I can really think of right now.
