It has served me good and many of the parts are still good but i need one that doesnt have any rust. A broke down jeep would be good. Mostly i need a good body, good axles, and a clean interior. Send me a message if u find anything under 1500
There are usually parts jeeps on CL
I'd suggest checking there.
Are you new to NM?

It's a good one! When my mechanic was checking it out, he half-seriously/half-jokingly asked me the name and number of the guy who was selling it. I figure I've "done good" if he'd buy it himself, given the opportunity! He was giving me tips on how to return the faded outside (with cracked rubber/cracked black-stuff-on-the-window chrome) to a like-new condition to match the interior.

Re the wiggle that some folks were talking about - this one has a wee bit of that - on this one at least it's the trackbar, according to the mechanic.

The only mechanical issues on this Jeep were the trackbar, worn rear U-joints, the rubber gasket part of the harmonic balancer is dried out and cracked in two places, and the front brake pads need replacing.

I didn't make it far enough down Craigslist to see the $1500 one but I would have passed it by. I'm female, and it's tough to get in a lifted Jeep when I'm wearing a skirt and heels! LOL

The harmonic balancer being cracked I wouldn't really worry unless it was pulling apart mine been like that since I got mine 6years ago. The rear ujoints are easy to do pads easy too.
Trackbar It can matter where is at either movement at the axle or the body. Axle could be used bushings common thing rubber gets old, if axle side the tierod technically speaking is loose and NFG.

You may have steep angles in your steering after the 2". Some people don't change their steering components after their lifts. Except for the pitman arm.

Junior!!! Your genius is requested

Regarding your wiggles. Is it at high speeds around 45-50 that it's happening? Or when you hit a good bump?
The times i noticed it was when i hit bump or a pothole in the road. At around 60-70 mph the steering wheel will start to vibrate. I think its just an alignment issue. I'll worry about that after I install the lift when it comes in hopefully this week.

I'll look at upgrading my steering components after I lift my jeep. I read that NOT all XJ's are the same and they all react differently to lifts.

I went with the 2in lift because its my DD and occasional off-road dirt trails toy.

What about the rear blocks, shackels, add a leaf or new leafs? Did it come with trackbar relocate bracket? With a 2 inch I wouldn't worry about trackbar only if it shot. Measure from the unibody to the middle of the tire on both side, to see if your pretty centered. If your off more then a inch then I would get a trackbar. A drop pitman arm may help also. A bad ujoint, ball joints and control arm bushing can cause problems too. Tires and rims can too. Just check everything in the front for any play it will usually fix the problem.

When i tried to install my new steering stabilizer I noticed that my draglink has some rotational play. I'm not sure how much play is okay to have. I couldnt get the stabilizer off the draglink. I got really BFH and a pickle fork to try tonight if I have time.

I got the 2in lift from Fatbobs. It's a 2inch coil and long HD AAL. No trackbar relocation bracket. Is it needed?

I've had good luck with Firestone plus I have the lifetime alignment, and they told me that they will align it if lifted or lowered as long as your arms can be adjusted back to factory settings.
