Yup that the reason I never did a roof mount I wanted to if raining or whatever you happen to slip your down and bye tire where ever it rolled to. Plus your goin to be pissed off even more because you'll still have to change the tire. Just like the 10ply tires dullys yea it sucks.

I've been looking around the Rio Rancho / albuquerque area for some mud to go play in but nothing. I've been wanting to get the XJ dirty for a while now but I don't want to drive more than an hour to do so.

Find a fire hydrant near some dirt in the mesa etc open up mud problem solved. I don't know if you'll find one in the midde of nowhere but I offered some advise. Didn't say it would be legal either hahaha.

Really though, my 33 is not difficult at all to get up there. I would never use a bumper mount tire carrier because of the damage to the unibody. The roof is the only viable solution.

If it's too heavy for you guys you could always find a girl scout troop looking to get a civic duty merit badge. I'm sure one of them would be up to the task. Bwahahahahahaha

No room for all that nonsense haha. Having a backseat, and probably a sub, there wont be room back there especially when I step up in size. I dont think a bumper mount is going to hurt anything especially if you really tie the bumper into the frame. I mean people tow a hell of alot more than what a tire ways with there xjs with no issues

I like mine in the Jeep but I would like the option to put it on the roof if I needed space. I could not stand it blocking my back window.

Ask anyone who has wheeled an XJ long term with a big tire on the back. If I'm not mistaken, That's why Glen took his tire off of the mount on his white XJ.
