I'd like to encourage everyone who can make it out for this one to come play. We've had a great time every time we've gone out! I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.

To a certain measure I have no experience in off roading much but I thought I could just go and contour the obstacles....
Anyway I still have a bit of work to do to be ready....
(stuck at the airport for the night sucks.... good they have internet lol)

ok we can get probably get you up to forest lake but once we get to the rock pile you are probably going to want to catch a ride with someone... when i was on my quad we ran into a cherokee with a budget lift ( around 2") and he couldn't make it up there. but if you want to give it a try then we'll get you as far as we can with minimal damage.

Holy moly! Crazy Jeep repair day! I've been trying to narrow down the strange noise my XJ's been making on occasion when I put it in reverse. (Some of you asked about it on the last run and at that point I did'nt have a clue). It only happens in reverse so I deduced that reverse engine torque was contributing. Scoped the motor mounts, drivers side was really rough so I decided to change them, which I did tonight with the help of my son. It went pretty well, I'm glad I had the boys help lining them back up! Got them done, fired it up, cool much smoother on startup and shutdown, had my son put it in reverse, oh great now my intermittent problem is an all the time problem, the new mounts have made it worse, now it does it everytime it goes into reverse. Checked all the exhaust, nothing hitting, pulled the inspection plate on the trans, all the T converter bolts are tight (scratching my head), My son, "Dad, I think its coming from the right front, and sounds like something rotational", he's 17, what the hell does he know? Anyway, he convinced me to get in and put it in reverse while he listened, da,da,da,da,da,da,da, "shut it down Dad, I found it!". I'll be damned, he did, one of my A/C lines had come out of its clip and where it comes up in front of the battery tray on its way to the condenser the line had moved forward, when in reverse the torque of the engine caused a shift, sending the mech. fan into the A/C line, theres a huge wear mark in the line and and the corner of all the fins on the fan are shiny. I'll be damned, I just got outsmarted by a 17 year old! I'm torn between embarasement and pride, afterall that is my boy! Sorry for the long post, but I was pretty impressed by my son figuring it out and wanted to give him props, thanks to him I can sleep tonight.

i had something like that, after i finished up my long arm build i had this crazy loud noise. coming from the front end. well i knew that my pinnion angle was off and i was low on fluid. so i thought that it was my gears in the front end so. i tear it apart and change the fluid and grind away my diff cover so that all the bolts will work with it tight. take it for a drive still their. damn what the fish..... well come to find out when my buddy was helping me put thinks back together when he was in the engine bay he leaned on the fan shroud and broke it and it was hitting on the fan. all that time with the dremel for nothing...
