I hope not, it was in park and I used the winch. But it is a Dana 44. I could break one in park.

So how horrible would a 1/2 ton be to tow with? just curious... I would only be towing MY jeep on a trailer with trailer brakes and to-from trails. I would like to get a tow rig without getting a loan, may have to settle with either a nicer 1/2 ton, or a high mileage 3/4 ton....

any thoughts? only options are Chevy or Dodge and a 4 door or double cab.

I pulled mine a couple times to moab with my brothers half ton dodge hemi a
And it did awesome. That's one of the reasons I got my truck. I did get the 3/4 ton because the price was right. It rides like a tank though compared to the half tons.

Right on. I think I'll end up going with a 1/2 ton and throw some bags on it and just go easy with it. what motor did it have? I will end up DD'ing the truck I get and 1/2ton sounds better for day to day... I just don't want to regret not having a 3/4ton. All the dodges I am looking at have the 5.9L V8.

LOL, yeah. and the wife will love me for not getting a loan, which makes a house and more babys happen faster/easier

Well, ideally I would get a Diesel, But Ideally it would be a 2011-2012 dodge like AX10toy's... (love that thing) but with my current cards gas is the only logical option for a DD and towing without breaking the bank on purchase, I have the wife talked into about 10-12K, but could flip cash up to about 6-7K... so I am thinking the 5-6 range would be ideal, As not adding more to my monthly bills is a huge upside lol

I sold a jeep tonight, and possibly another one this weekend. More money for jeep toys.

Dodge are way good tow rig no doubt but IMO Chevy is the way on ride dodge is like a tank IMO Chevy = caddy :-) and being a DD comfort would be king to me
