Only do it if you know how to weld it right, or have someone do it who does. If its a DD i would think about it for a bit before you just weld it up, if its a trail rig F-it just weld it.

i tore my carpet up...... in the jeep. it's a lot louder driving around now. not much rust under there surprisingly enough. the back bolt did break on the driver seat and i'm pretty pissed about that.

Lol I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do it. I'm looking for a truck and if I find something I like big enough to tow it around i will do it.. But until then I was just curious

I've been thinking about doing this just to make sure it's not falling apart or try to save it before it gets worse but I always get lazy or have to do something else...

it's really easy to pull out. just take the center console out and start tearing from the front near the firewall or under the back seat. if i had to dd mine i wouldn't pull the carpet out though, unless i put down sound dampening material.

I would weld it if it's not going to be a dd,once it becomes a ohv or trailer rig your not going to drive it on anything other than dirt so tire wear would not be a issue

As long as you don't try to get your rig sideways around the corner and take them slow and wide you will be ok keep the tires rotated on the 8.25 it has a c clip so you won't want to weled it like this just because access to clip if you brake shaft
