Using a ring gear with another pinion gear is a bad idea, gears mesh and wear together. they never wear the same, so putting a worn ring with a worn pinion from another set will cause them to have mismatched gear mesh and bad surface contact patches. Some claim it causes the ring/pinion to go out shortly after or shear teeth...

That is odd... both the same trans? thats really all that I can think of that would make them be different, pinion gears are the same so the axle side shouldn't change....

Nope, you have to drop the gear, its only like 10 bolts... if you mark the carrier and gear, and re-align the gear onto the carrier in the SAME spot it was, you wont have to reset backlash/gear pattern. I would do it this way, sounds like a lot of work but its less headache later.

It was a good weekend I recoved a rolled over wrangler this weekend haha of tge camera was dead no pic everyone was ok litlle 4 year old boy in the back was laughing I should prob where my seat belt more often even if it is just on a dirt road if they wasnt wearing ttheirs they prob would have got hurt
