they help give it a "solid" feeling but are not a need and just cover up bad geometry/weak components IMHO I do not have one on mine.

If its where the stabilizer used to mount cut it off... I would any way...

It did break all the way off once, but in the driveway. Probably cracked and "loosened" by said events.

Not really sore - just setting the record straight.
yeah, I want it higher. I think I will drill holes into the rear glass and run some 12inch bolts through there and attach the spare right to that. Think it'll work? Don't worry, I'll put washers on it to spread the load and make it safe n junk.
