I really dont think it matters if its hooked to the d rings or not, I used to always have it hooked to mine in my blazer and it didnt hurt anything in the 5 years I had it on there

The manual just says to spool the last meter by rotating the drum by hand with the clutch disengaged. No mention of what should be done with the hook when not in use. I'll eventually get an isolator for it, until then I just wont crank it down too tight, which is what I assume they are getting at with the whole do the last meter by hand thing.

so i got one u-joint down, i have never had such a freaking problem with them as i did with that one
but after almost a hour and half i got it done with the sacrifice of the other $33 joint its done
