ya anytime man, if your plannin on running 37's one day dont go with a chrysler 8.25 its not much better then a D35. i would look for some chev axles or ford- if it were me and i were doin 37's i would find a ford 9" rear and maybe a Gm 10 boltfor the front, one with the 8.5" ring gear not the 7.5" front- you can probably grab them pretty cheap at pick n pull up there and they are not complete overkill for your project
ill check the junkyard here for some axles if you throwout some names of the ones you are thinkin of doin..
i live in springville so im not far away at all

wow never heard anyone recommend a GM 10 bolt front, I surely would stay far away from that front axle if your going to run 37s!
ill say this.. and ive been telling mike the exact same thing, if your even thinking on doing full width axles do it right the first time and do a 60 front and a gm 14 bolt rear dont mess around with half ton crap

Ya the problem with goin chevy front (from what I've heard is its got the diff on the right side! The ford 9" rear out of a 78-79 bronco is a almost direct swap, but the front is gonna take quite a bit of fab! ask x1994j cory, not to mention the full widths will make almost the entire width of the tread stick out! Lol

this is one reason, but you could swap it to the other side (done it before on a dana 44) but the biggest reason not to run that 10 bolt axle is because they are junk plain and simple, the 44 - 9 inch swap is a common swap, but a lot of people who actually do it end up with one tons under their rig anyway, thats why I say do it right the first time and go straight for tons!

the 9" 44 combo out of the bronco's and half ton fords arn't full width, so you can keep it street legal pretty easy with those axles

Thanks for all the good info guys...I might have got my wish, or at least im gonna use it as an excuse. I found a big puddle of gear oil in the driveway coming from the front axle. Yippee...now I just have to decide what to do.

If my wheels didnt have a stupid amount of offset they wouldn't stick out like that. An 8 lug axle same year as mine is actually a couple inches wider. Mine are wideR, but not completely full width. Mine are still "half ton" axles. Not 1-ton's.

This is Strattons old XJ with the same axles as mine... his tires are pretty much covered by a set of BUshwackers. It's all in the wheel offset.

Actually, mine are 65" home slice. I believe a stock XJ is 59". Waggy width is right about 60". And i thought FULL width 8 lug's were in the 67" to 69" range.
