Wheelin, especially on the rocks, is a skill of knowing what your rig is doing, and where are the resistance spots. If ya noticed on the wedgie things I was trying to get my left front up the wall alittle. If I could get it to where I can straighten my wheels and get the right front down, that was least resistance was.
I'm still learning, even though I've been doin this for almost 13 years. Comming down steep angles is something you might have seen me working on. Rolling through is something you have to teach yourself to do. You can't ride the brakes all the way to the end. That stupid gravity can be stronger sometimes. And at those angles, it makes it possible for the rear end to lift off the ground. Which can end up with a roll.
Like this....
You gotta bump the gas sometimes. but teaching yourself to do so takes time. Everyone that has wheeled has hit the brakes just like the guy did on axle hill.
A lot of people see it as 80% driver, 20% rig, as do I. The rig doesn't know how to get up things. Just like a gun, you might be able to shoot it, but to hit a target is another question. Bumping it is something I had to learn with my Toyota. Unlike the Samurai, I was careful not to push it. I didn't have the strong axles I have now. Or even the power. It took about 8 months or so to learn the Toyota from the Samurai.
Wow this turned into a long post. All because Tom said "i'm so glad you are there to do all the hard stuff I would love to do but can't!"
The final thing...If ya ever want my help spotting, or even want to ride up something I'm climbing, just ask. I don't bite, most of the time. Happy Day Light Saving Day

Looks awesome I can't wait to get out there with you guys. Took me a minute to figure out what that last picture was lol. Oh and my wife said the only way I can go is if she drives some of the trails she loves wheelin.
