first off, does it have disk brakes on the 8.8? Second you will have to regear to match front and rear gear ratio's. And 3rd if it doesent have rear disk brakes or at least 4:10's don't waste your money.

the only reason I say if it has disk brakes is because the 8.8 with drum brakes is a c clip style axle you brake a shaft the wheel falls off. Disk brakes with a broken shaft will at least get you off a trail. 95 or newer is what you want. They have disk brakes on them. I would try a junk yard or car-parts.com and find one as far as the gear ratio's go I love my 4:10's And going from stock gears to a 4:10's is quite the improvement.

yeah no problem if i remember right you will have to mount the leaf perches on top of the axle cause i think they are spring under but other than that brake lines ebrake, and i dont know about the drive shaft........ I wanted to do this to my jeep but until i go bigger than 33's im fine with my lil 35 c clip axle lol!

Hi guys, yeah I've watched your thread for a while, just curious on the goings on. I'm up in the Ogden area, so even though the season looks like it's over let me know if there's any kid-friendly runs up in this area! Otherwise I'm just a fly on the wall enjoying XJ's.
