So basically I cannot put a bolt in there because it doesn;t have anything to hold onto....
I am thinking this..... get a big amount of weld in there, let is cure, drill and tap and consider it solved....

In the meantime, I just put everything back in with lots of RTV and it works so far but I bet the pressure will make it a very temporary fix.....

decided to go with the traditional drill and tap (i knew the time to learn how to do that was going to come....)
there was a piece of the bolt still sticking out so before doing that I took the chisel to it to make it flush with the block head .... right

How bads it broken Steph? you may still be able to drill and tap it and use a good sealer to save it. I'm guessing the picture is'nt of your Jeep (unless you've been painting again?), its a little late now, but grinding or filing down the broken bolt and center punching it prior to drilling it out is the recommended method. Dont feel bad, if I had a nickel for every lesson I learned the hard way, I'd be wealthy, LOL!

Dully noted.... grinding down not chiselling... I guess I was not thinking clear lol
Well lesson learned....

I amd going to let it be like that for now and think about a better way when it fails again..... hey I just wanted to drive the jeep lol

So i've got these half doors that are 90% done that i'm pretty sure i'm not going to be using.. thought i'd offer them to you guys first and see if there was any interest.. I'm not sure what they're worth... make me an offer. The door handles still work and you can put mirrors on still.

I could help you finish them up if you wanted, show you what to do anyway. There are mods to make your doors removable.

hey guys sorry its been a while since i posted man there was alot going on since i have been gone thanks jeff ryan and tom for giving us the oportunity to be in such a successful group its been a blast

well the wife is about to pop any day now its getting exciting but yet scary cant wait to get him into jeeping as well he will grow into it.

I am sure everything will be good with the baby.... enjoy them while they are young because when they turn 14 they become worse than rats

So after studying a lot about my little inconvenience, I have decided that my best bet was to replace the head.... the redneck fix didn't work out that good lol and since I was planning to change the head gasket and manifold gaskets.... I might as well....

So here comes the big question: How much is it going to cost me ? I understand that I better get whatever head I find checked at a shop for wrap and cracks and I was advised to spend the extra money on a valve job....
Any of you has experience with that and can give me a price range ?

ya id definitely get the head checked out and make sure its now warped it only takes .002" before you"ll have to get it resurfaced. and you might as well get a valve job done as well, and if you want to spend more a header would be an easy upgrade

i dont but give these guys a call, ya their a ways away but thats the ONLY shop we send are engines & heads to get resurfaced.
