I've never done Elephant hill, in fact its been so long since I've been to Moab I'm not sure what trails I've run. Nothing more than intermediate trails at the time I'm sure as all I had at that time was a mild lift and very little experience.

I've made that run 3 times and its one of my favorites. It's a one way loop and is very scenic and fun. I also enjoyed taking the easy hike about in the middle of the run to the Confluence Overlook to see the Green and Colorado rivers converge.

Elephant hill is cool.... but it's like an hour drive to the trail head from Moab. You could easily do Elephant hill in a stock XJ. But it's still fun. here's a few pics from my Elephant hill run... OH YEAH! And if you do go, make sure and top off the gas tanks in both your rig, and your tow rig. There's one gas station near the entrance to the park, my buddy didnt have enough gas in the tow rig, and had to fill up. 90 bucks for 15 gallons!

The actual hill isn't very tough, but on the trail heading out to the confluence or chestler park there are some decent obstacles. Still, I'm with X1994J, it can be done it a stock XJ. Some rocks might have to be stacked in a few locations. Just put them back when you are done with them .

Depending on the time of year, it can be fun. Middle of July sucks. When you do find water, the flies and such are all there. Other then that, Its on the fun list. It's got alittle of everything.

Is it wrong to circle the walmart parking lot until you find a jeep to park next to?
