Your wrap around will probably achieve the same result, I just get nervous about the strength of that Uni, ha ha!

i guess i should of been more clear my bad. what i was saying is the slider it's self will not bend. when you come down on a rock hard it will flex up a little and hit and denting the rocker. if anyone has read this then it will tell you what i am talking about the same thing that happen to eric's jeep happen to me. what he did is make a brace that went to the control arm mount and if i remember right he added a third leg to the frame. but anyway if you do not have this book i would recommend it to anyone.

Ya idk I'd rather beat my rocker up or rip the unibody, than take the chance of damaging the control arm mount!!! that way at least I can get myself off the trail...

i guess you don't get what i am trying to say. im not trying to say that your design is not bad im just saying the hole purpose of making sliders is to not put dents in the rockers. i would try to find the book and read about what i am talking about. when you make something to protect the body and the unibody you want to make it as strong as possible the first time so you don't have to remake things or even rebuild a whole new jeep beacause you have done somthing to the unibody. so you can take this how ever you want im not saying don't build these im saying if you are going to build them build them as strong as you can.

Good tip on the builders guide alwaysXJ, I looked at this back in September but kind of forgot about it. Just ordered one off E-bay yesterday, I just bought and started building my latest XJ in Sept and am working on a build plan, I'm thinking this guide will be invaluable.

UPS delivered my Rusty's sliders today! The quality is remarkable, the pics on the website don't do them justice. Remarkable welds, the finish is fantastic, I can't wait to get 'em mounted up.
