My 8.8 is from a 95?? I don't know why they would say those year's 95 and up have disk break's on them...So why not!
What you will need:
1. Spring perches-2.5 inches wide for a 3.25 axle tube,
they sell them at fourwheel parts
2. Leaf spring plate's- Mine are from a 98 F-150.. Don't try to use the explorer plates they suck!Go to a junkyard for those
3.U-bolt's for a 3.25 axle tubes
4.when you get your donor axle take the flange adapter off the driveshaft it will save you some money! But you will need to run a 1310-1330 crossover U-joint with that route unless yourdriveshaft has 1330's on it already.
Take everything on the axle if you get it from a yard!!! The factory brake lines worked for me!
5.Get a better Diff cover you will see why!
6. as far as Ebrake Cables i'm getting some made..Or rig up the ones that come with your axle, I didn't do mine yet LOL!
7. Mount Shock's on Shock bracket's that you will Fab/Buy
8.Enjoy the hell out of having a great rear axle with alot of avalable donor part's!!!
Sorry to go into this but the forum's make it sound way to easy PM me if ya need help or to ask me question's, being how I did this swap recently....Or ignore all the Info if you know all that stuff already.

I'm dying to get out again after that blast of a run last weekend at the snakes, but I need to do some routine maintenance and give the Heep a good going over for an upcoming Moab run in two weeks. You guys have fun and be sure to post up some pics!

Yeah we made it home ok.... I had alot of fun! Busted 2 bolts and one mount off the steering gearbox, took one bolt out of my buddys so we each had 2 for the trip home. now time to go to the scrap yard and get some parts..... and it pulled the transmission line off the cooler, so had to hook that back up to

Ha Ha breaking the steering box off sucks huh? I've done it twice and thought I was the only one! I have since started carrying extra steering box bolts and a spare steering box to! I built a steering box brace two weeks ago and didn't have a problem at all at 5 mile! But glad to hear everyone had a good time and made it home safe!

Lil Moab is just a jinxed area. If I take my rig, it always comes back broken. Even when I don't try anything. Last year I got there, got it off the trailer and was just putting around. Then I noticed I broke 3 out of 4 studs for my steering arm on the drivers side. Which also holds the top bearing and housing in place on my knuckle. Had to drive the truck and trailer all the way up to the big play area to go get the yota.

I will also have two 285/75/16 mtr's old style for sale soon with about half tread and 4 black 16 inch rimes. not sure how much i want for the stuff i am taking off yet so make offers.
