It isn't just tipping points, but also climbing - you can climb a little better when you are lower
I am on 6.5" and 35s, and she's at a pretty good height. There is still a little room to be lower with just Bushwackers. If you did some cutting, you could be even lower.
Here is mine on about 6.5 and 33s. It just needs more tire or less lift, I think.
Did the 33's make less contact with the Bushwacker's?
Anywho guy's I WILL try to make it on the run up North..... Make sure you text or call me with the detail's Steve I have been trying to get my rig back together after RustyNail took out a bite on blues *** this last trip LOL! Don't fozzy lock it. The second you shock load it hard, it will probably break the welds or spider gears. Remember when Sean fozzied his and busted it up 5 mile? He is a good welder and that was an 8.8.... just my .02- I Lincoln locked my 8.8 and beat the **** out of it at little moab with no problem. Why don't you try the junkyard idea?
I'm out for this run, my jeep is still broke and I don't ever have time to fix it working 60 hour weeks.

I thought Sean Lincoln locked his but it wasn't welded enough??? I don't really want to replace the carrier, cause that means I have to reset the gears which was a PITA with the axle out, let alone with it under the truck! I'll try adding another shim for the providence run, & if that doesn't work, I might look into a JY carrier....

I just welded the spiders together, and yeah it broke cause I dont think I cleaned them well enough before I welded it, anyway I would just replace the carrier, you will probably just end up needing to set the backlash, but it would be better than messing with an f'd up carrier

Sounds like your locker install was about as fun as mine Ryan. I highly doubt I'll ever take one on again, I'm thinking I have no business poking around inside a diff, Lol!
