No I got the UT cool kid discount, $5.99.....
IIRC yeah it was 35$.
I view "subscriptions/memberships" a little different then most people. I don't view it as I am paying for this, I view it as
"Due to this site, I have saved $100's or lots of time, ect, so I should support it as a return for the information/money saved to ensure it continues to save me time/money"
I do however like how NAXJA puts the money to good use towards our sport, locally and nationally, which makes me proud to be a member. I don't have a lot of time to go do things actively as most are planned for sat, and I work sat's... So I donate to help fund those who do have the time but maybe not the $... so we can both win at keeping things open/clean/fresh ect....
Just my take (don't know why I got to rambling)

I'm with Tristin on the "my money is given due to the benefit I have recieved" way of thinking. The main reason I'm a supporter here is to give to a site that I not only learned a ton from as newb, but made a ton of friends and wheeling companions. All this was possible through servers they either maintain, or pay others to maintain. $25 a year feels kinda more like a tip to say thanks for letting us use your resources, small price I feel for the benefit I percieve.
As far as NAXJA, I have no beef with anyone there, I've met and had the pleasure to wheel with a number of way cool people from there, I lurk there, atleast once a day, I do tend to spend more time here just because its more active here, that is just what it is.
As far as becoming a member of NAXJA, I've been on the fence as well, I hear about the giving back to the sport, but to be honest, I have'nt really looked into it. I have however been thinking about pulling the trigger and ponying up the $35 bucks (again small price to pay for what I've learned from the site) getting a little more involved with what they've got going on and then forming my opinion.
As far as the whole recruiting argument, who cares, when I think somethings a good idea I tend to try to convince others it is as well. I feel most people lean that way, I dont think theres anything wrong trying to convince others to check out something your passionate about.
If someone invites me into an organization and I'm not interested (think the Army and the predominant local religion) I respectfully decline, I don't feel the need to waste a bunch of my time argueing our differences on the matter, thats just not productive and gets no one anywhere but ticked off.
Ok, now that my two cents seems to have turned into a rant I step down from the soapbox.
Carry on.

Ok, I'm gonna admit, I've been doing my best to keep out of this pro/con NAXJA debate, but suddenly feel the need to give a couple pennies worth of opinion.
