Since were on the subject, I'm debating taking my axles to someone to do them our doing them myself. If I take them to a shop and get them done it will save me alot of time and hassle, but doing them myself will save money. I have always done them myself so I don't know prices besides what I have read from others.. So what have you guys paid for gear installs in the Utah county area? And where?

$500 an axle isn't that bad if they are re-gearing all new bearings, installing locker, seals, pressing bearings on/off ect... However I wouldn't pay that lol. We charge about $400-$700 in labor alone to over haul a complete solid axle depending on the model.. on the side my co workers typical charge about $300 an axle... or $150 to set a Toyota diff already removed lol

I guess its all relative, Love doing it all my self. worth knowing how it was done and that its done right.

Yeah I was assuming he already has the bearings and gears ect..
I have been planning on doing them myself but my **** is already taking way to long and it would save me a couple days and alot of headache
