I have seen people run this setup as is... no experience with the long term though. I would just leave it single shear and run it, Or start over (I know that's hard to hear) I just don't think welding it to cast is going to be a good idea...
You could mount the bottom link below the knuckle and the upper on top, making the pivot point the knuckle and not the bottom hiem. it will also spread the force on the bolt a little more and have less leverage on the bolt, but that sacrifices clearance a little.... but I have never heard of a bad thing from that setup.

personal preference really, i just don't like the idea of all the stress being on one end of the bolt. but like i said, i know alot o fpeople running it that way, most with hydro assist and have had no problems with it.

I wasn't planning moab on the 29th cause im still playing financial catch up from my knee injury. A couple of my local friends are planning to go that weekend. My friend offered me a place to stay and would cover all my food as long as i cover my gas and beer. I really want to go as i have lived in Utah for 4.5yrs and never been to moab. Where are you guys camping at ??

There is a run to 5 mile (by saratoga springs) on the 29th... but thats all i know about
