I'm confirmed for my virgin trip to moab this weekend. Going with some local friends that arent really 4weellers but there will be quads, good eats, beer and fun. I'm a little nervous about wheeling and overheating in the high desert temps. Thinking of pulling my t-stat for the trip. Since i wont be crawling anything crazy by myself (or anything that a quad cant follow) can you guys recommend any trails that arent too agressive. I know what your thinking........driving 4 hrs to moab and not crawling ???? Well im from chicago and still learning and dont want to trash my daily driver without some of you guys out to spot.

I would recommend Hells revenge and fins if your trying some beginner stuff and possibly one vehicle... as they are pretty basic and if there is anything to worry about it can be bypassed... but would always recommend another vehicle!

First off, I wouldn't pull your T-stat, It can cause over heating as the coolant doesn't sit in the radiator long enough to cool, which keeps the coolant hot and makes it over heat.... are you having over heating issues?

Mine runs 220 sitting at lights after getting off the freeway when its warmer then 80* out side. not saying that isn't hot, but 4.0's run hot. I just run windows down and a/c off wheeling. anything past 220 makes me nervous though... but I guess my head is already cracked.. whats to worry about! bring on the heat! lol
