Post Seat Swap

I’m looking to swap the cloth seats in my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo for leather seats. I know I want leather, but I’m unsure which model years will fit. I’ve read that the Special Edition and Limited Grand Cherokees come with leather seats, but it seems that seats from 1998 and newer won’t work in the 1994 model. Can anyone provide guidance on compatible seat options? If anyone has leather seats available I would be willing to come look at them as long as you near me. I'm in Indiana near Indianapolis I would be willing to drive to Louisville or Cincinnati.

You may want to look in a yard for Tiburon seats they fit well and are comfortable. There is a few write ups on the install. I am going to go pull 2 on Monday for my rig.

I've got a set of tiburon seats in my house waiting for me to have time to get them installed. I agree they look great and seem to fit the XJ pretty well. Starting to get hard to find decent ones in the yards anymore.

I put Tiburon seats in my old 1995 XJ and also my old 2003 TJ and current 2004 LJ. I installed the first set in 2013 and have had them in at least one Jeep since then. They've been great! Very comfortable, easy to install and inexpensive. I've bought them for $40 to $75 CDN each. I think that, apart from some material and cosmetic differences, Tiburon seats remained the same throughout their production years. The ones I used came from 2003 to 2007 Tiburons. I recently picked up a set with seat heaters from a auto wrecker and will likely put them in my current 1989 XJ. It's a Limited with good leather seats so I'm on the fence ... but it will likely happen.

Here are pics of them in my old XJ and the very simple flat bar mounts I made for the ones in my LJ. The XJ mounts were pretty much the same. One difference was the for the TJ/LJ I used the Tiburon sliders. For the XJ I kept the original XJ sliders.
