Are the metal mount bolt stud things (I don't know the technical name here lol) still intact? Id take em if they are.

I was gonna bedline the ones on my 99 and id rather take em off but I can guarantee they'll all snap.

That's what I figuured, nevermind than. Toss em.

 

Those are a good part to have since they are almost all rusted out ( if yours are in good shape$. All you have to do is grind the head off the stud and use a punch and punch them out and insert a nit and bolt. Done this quite a few times. They are worth sticking on a shelf someone will need them I'm sure.

 

Just wanted to stop and introduce myself. I am from Mishawaka In. Just bought a 19949 Grand Cherokee ZJ. Working on getting it back in to shape. Not a lot wrong with it. Mostly needs Front fenders, the bottom behind each front tire has rust thru. And other small rust areas. I think I will be getting on asking alot of questions and for help. So please bear with me as this is my first Jeep.
First question would be how do you tell if your Jeep came with remote door locks?
Second: Long starts: the Jeep starts up everytime but it cranks for a few seconds before it cranks over. Already checked battery, starter, Getting gas and air and spark just takes time to crank over.
Third: Tires what is a good all season tire that does not cost an arm and leg?
Four: how to adjust the rear hatch handle, seems the handle is not making contact with the level that pulls up on the latch. looks like a screw but cannot tell how to disconnect it from the latch to turn it and adjust

Let me see if I can help you on your questions...

1) you will usally find a little sensor up on the dash or overhead if it had remote.

2)Long starts usally come from slow fuel pressure during start up or a dirty/worn crank sensor.

3)I recommend BFG's also try a few used tire shops they usally have some good deals.

4)adjust the striker so that it aligns up with the door/latch

5) If all else fails by you a manual because jeeps love their owners and want alot of quality time lol

Anyone know of a good used 99 Xj? I am looking at getting back into wheeling after selling the JK. Would prefer a 99 because of the issues with the 00 and newer. But would be open to maybe an older Xj as well.
