Where is all this? I don't know anything about the WJ swap but I like the sound of this... Might have to get the ball rolling though

It may go without saying, but have you checked any of the local JY: Gray and White, McKenzie's? Gray and White has a huge yard.

When are you going? I am in Newnan on most Tuesdays and Thursdays. I recently just took off the front end of my 1985 and if you need some help I do not mind. I am in the market for an adjustable trac bar. Maybe I will get lucky and they will have one.

They won't let you walk around and neither will gray and white... I'm gonna call my grandpa after I get off of work and see if I should go get that axle tomorrow or Wednesday cause I have a little time on those days and ill have time to clean it up.

It is going to take some time to get it off with no power tools and a jack. You might want to plan an entire day. What is the location of this other place you guys talked about, Marietta? Can you walk it?

I was wrong... Its in Conley, GA which is roughly 60 miles from us. Its a PAP so you pay $2 to get in and walk around and do whatever really. No jacks or torches or things that produce a spark are allowed though...

The thing that holding me up is 1.) The Jeep the transmission comes out of, like how many miles the thing has on it. 2.) How in the world to get it out with the Jeep sitting on the ground with no jack.

I'm going on Friday when i get off at 2 with my grandpa to that PAP and i plan to pick up a case and both driveshafts or 2 front ones and go ahead and do a SYE on it... and try to pick up another electric fan.

The Gentry auto parts place in Newnan wants $200 for a tranny thats already out of a Jeep and ready to go, they also want $200 for a front axle with brakes he said.

Yeah. I am a little familiar with Conley, GA. I agree that getting the transmission out is going to be a task. Good luck with that. It may be worth the money to have it pulled for you. Good luck with that. I know the family over at McKenzie's. I will give them a call about walking it or something. I am sure they are probably concerned about the liability.

Mckenzies will let you walk no problem... Him and his son just dont seem to like me or my buddys when we would go out there all the time 2 years ago. I'll see what the tranny situation is a PAP and decide from there, might be worth it to have one already out like you said.

Here's a price list:
Front axle-Gentry's-$200 w/ brakes
T case-PAP-$~60
Driveshafts-PAP-$~40
Crossmember-PAP-Idk
Tranny-Gentry's-$200 already pulled
