Eh I love the cj tho!!! Aint no xj on 33's gonna outrun my 5.0, not even a stroker. Hell i got a bigger rear end, same lsd, factory sye, gear driven tcase, all of 3 speeds, lol, like 260 hp on the lightest jeep ever made. Plus i stand taller in 4" of lift and 33's than a 6.5" on an xj with 33's. U gotta admit this summer wheelin without a top would be pretty sweet lol. But ill miss the roominess, the rack, the fuel injection, but most of all COIL SPRINGS!!! Lol so why yall are creepin and crawling ill be bouncin and haulin, lol. Yea it dont flex near as much.

I can hardly fit into a CJ5. Let alone get through the doorway of one.

Haha it was a jeep, not meant fer comfort, it was meant for the woods. Dont be hatin on a cj 5 it was a predecessor of the cherokee. I love jeeps, not just xj. I have had 10 people ride with me so far ranging from 5'5" 155 pounds to 6'2" 260 pounds, no one has complained about the doors. They are smaller doors no doubt, but the v8 roar sit down shut up and hold on attitude of my cj, more than compensates fer the door. Lol its just heritage, i loved my xj, coils are more comfortable and most importantly more flexy than leaves. I got rid of my xj cause it was between my xj or my power gettin cut off in the beginning of fall.

im not abig fan of CJ and wranglers - i like the enclosed cockpit of my xj. iv owned 2 sguare headlight wranglers, and a cj7 - yes they wr nic, but after rolling a tacoma i want more to protect me than just a roll bar - yes i know the roll bars are safer -its just a mind thing, i want to have a full solid roof and structure around me. LOL!
plus im getting bald with age and i like the shade - lol!

Only thing i dont like about CJ5's are the doorways. And that the wheelbase of them. I like a nice Cj7, little more room and longer wheelbase.

Yea cj are not for ever one and u only get 2 doors till LJ in 2006 or maybe later. Im not a fan of yj. Cj stand for civialian jeep hence cj, but was never realized fully till j10's then further by the old big big cherokees with 360, then the mj-xj era till grands which further helped out comfort and driveability. Hey i still hate the liberty cause it took the place of the xj. I respect the xj, but at the same time i respect all jeeps.

Id rathher have a 7, with a back seat in u have a foot and a half of room. Yj, cj7, and tj share the same wheel base like 2.5 foot longer than the 5 or so. Added room fer the door and more passenger space. But an xj fully built and a cj of any era fully built without suspension over haul(keepin leaves). The xj will outperform a cj any day anytime anywhere. I know i have had both fully built, well close, but the same setup on both.

But only reason i stay on this forum even tho I am a owner of a cj5 not a xj. I had a k5 blazer 2 months ago for about 4 months, is because xj owners are some of the coolest owners of jeeps, mostly vecause xj are cheap and can be built more on a budget like me, i met a few xj owners on here and really thought they were cool and had a lot of the DIY mentality as I do. Most wrangler owners are not really as passionate about building rigs as xj owners are. Cj owners are all about restos, wranglers are all about comfort, xj are mostly about wheelin, y i like xj forum.
