They make 30 spline shafts but you have to buy a 30 spline locker to match it. Plus, I would stay as far away from non-standard size stuff as possible. When it breaks you'll HAVE to wait for a new one instead of popping in a trail spare.
I still think you'll regret polishing the **** out of a Dana 30. I did. Lost a lot of money on it. I had ~2k in my 30. Still broke shafts, rings and pinions on 35's (With chromos and 760's) Sold it for 900. Built the 44 for 1200.

Then ill have to cut down each shaft I buy for it.
I can see it working..but wouldnt that put the weak link on the weld where the axle comes back together?

Also no, you remove the C on one side, cut the tube off and weld the C back on.
