So I can still get the inline 6 in the grand cherokee. That is good to know. I like that motor.

Is there a section in here to offer vehicles for sale or trade?

What year would have the inline 6 and also not an all wheel drive but has the 2wd, 4wd high and low?

As new a year as possible? 97, 98, 99, etc? Don't want a 93. Maybe a 95 and up.

they all had either the 4.0 or 5.2... only the 98 came with the 5.9... but why find one with a 4.0 when they have V8's that are shared with the dodge trucks? more power... my first jeep was a 97 ZJ 4.0... on 33's and stock gears i couldnt pull my 5x12 trailer with two for wheelers and 4 people up a frickin hill on the highway... it would slow down to the point it would down shift with the pedal to the floor... lol...

same motors that have been around for years... dodges answeres to the chevys... used up until the hemis as far as i know... the trannys to the ZJ's are what you gotta make sure are strong... in any motor they had they seem to have issues after a bit... but when rebuilt if a little touch of aftermarket there good to go...

Is there a particular transmission that jeep put in the grand cherokee that holds up better that others? or did jeep use the same transmission on all grand cherokees?

they were different then regular XJ's and the 4.0 and V8's didnt share the same tranny... and no they were all roughly the same... i say they have problems because i see them all the time on CL for cheap because the tranny burnt up... there a dime a dozen... and cheap to rebuild... with a few aftermarket parts they can last alot longer... most tranny shops know this stuff anyways... not trying to make it sound like there horrible or anything... i wouldnt worry about it other then if i was buying one... i just would make sure i listen and feel it shift and make sure its doing it right... if so... its good to go...

95 xj in Milledgeville. still pretty much stock right now. waiting on the lift to come in, but swapped the injectors for 5.0 injectors and of course oil, fuel filter all that basic stuff.
