Starting to get depressed about selling the XJ

Cleaned it up more last night, pulled the grille, and repainted it along with the bezels..
So clean

Are you going to be as pleased with your wedding a year from now?

Again, I had a $900 wedding. In a church, with tons of decorations, 600 professional pictures, legit preacher man, a reception at the local Shrine club, with tons of decorations, an open bar, finger food and a professional DJ.

On top of that her dress cost like 300 bucks and the honeymoon was 2,500 but that don't count since I didn't pay for it.

My buddy had a $20,000 wedding and it was no better than mine.

What I'll ask you is can you replace the XJ you have now for the amount of money you'll gain from it or is it going to cost you more in the long run to replace the XJ that you want?

I'd take out a 401k loan before I sold a vehicle that I couldn't easily replace.

^ I agree my uncle spent almost 10k on his, and my cousins $600-700 wedding out doors by the pond was alot more scenic. Though there wasn't a DJ, open bar, or anything fancy at either. Both had a lot of good country cooking though!

That's the only thing we went weak on was the food.

There was a cake and basically stuff you'd see at a super bowl party. Something to keep the alcohol down with.

Do what you feel is right, and also remember the wedding is more for her and not for you. I commend you for selling your jeep. This is the start of a joining of hearts (sorry to be so cheesy) and you should make it special and sacrifice personal items to show her you care.

I understand what you're saying but, IMO, you shouldn't have to sacrifice to show your feelings. It goes both ways.

I think owning a vehicle outright is far more practical than having a super expensive, extravagant wedding ceremony.

I guess different strokes for different folks.

I know I know..
But..like blue dog said. Im doing it for her.

There are more xjs out there, but Ill only have 1 wedding.
She has a mindset of it looking a certain way, with certain things, etc etc..

I don't want her to be disappointed.

I am trying to pull some strings, and just get a loan, rather than sell the thing. I didnt want to put myself in more debt.. but come tax time..I plan on paying off everything I owe.

We shall see where this goes.

If you look at it that way you have already failed at your marriage.

There are tons of jeeps out there, but if you are saying you love and care for your future wife enough to marry her then you are saying there is only one of her.

I don't agree with going into any type of debt for a wedding, but sacrifice shows your heart.

Not a tremendous amount of debt..

We just procrastinated too long, and waited till the last 4 months to start paying for everything..and we found out thats not possible without a loan, or some other income.
