pipe wrench? should be easy to do by hand lol... when you get done put them in a bucket of oil... let them sit till next time you need them... we kept ours in ammo cans with jet engine oil jumped all over them lol... keeps corrosion down also...

I got them tight by hand but wanted to get them tight by pipe wrench.

Will do that.

Will do that.
kick them.... once you get them tight by hand kick the chain 3 or 4 times... youll be able to get like 3 more turns out of them most the time... do this a couple times and they will never move after...

As you all may know i dont like doing the same thing as everyone else... i was originally thinking about doing hoops like everyone else but i think this would be much easier and just as strong if not stronger...


the bottom will be bent towards and through the frame... i have through plates to weld on the inboard side of the frame where the tube will come out. The outboard has already been plated... they would also be gusseted to the top of the frame... the end by the fenders will be attached to the DOM tube that protects my fenders... ill simply drill a hole in the inner fender for them to go through...

only tough part will be getting them through the frame and through the fenders at the same time... may have to cut them somewhere down by the frame maybe... anyways i think this will make it plenty strong that i wont need the brace that goes over the engine... i could easily do so but i dont think it will be needed... it would literally take the DOM to bend, rip my frame, and pull apart welds in order for that to happen... i dont see that happening but figured i see what yall think?

My largest worry is the 4.0 wont be in there for long and im looking to keep as much room around the motor as possible...

itll also make it easy to adjust shock position... inboard more or outboard more... forward more... back more... not so much if i go longer but i could go shorter easier lol... i plan on making them as tall as the hood will let me... i dont really want to mess with cutting the hood up... gonna be hard enough as it is with a larger motor wanting a cowl...

if i did hoops i could bend nearlly as small as the shock itself is if i did 180...

Oh i know you can do the bend, it'll just be a tight fit with everything in there depending on how much of the inner fender you want to keep.

I cant wait to make my cage.

I saw a white XJ ridin around today with what looked like an 8 inch lift on 36s. It was around the roswell/alpharetta area. Specifically, Old Alabama road. If anyone knows whos jeep it is let me know! Id like to talk to them about their jeep. Also, anybody else live in the north fulton area?

Lokka lunchbox lockers ($450)
Front ten factory chromos ($500 LCA skids ($20)
New Rear disc brakes ($180)
New front brakes
SOLID covers with lube lockers
and you can have the steering ($180)


Won't be cheap, but it'll be a good deal.
