I love seeing something saved from the crusher!If the wrong guy bought it,that's were she'd be!Esp. a Wagoneer,i'm doing mine a little bit at a time .

Awesome build... has definitely changed since you purchased it!! I think it would look good without the wood grain... The lights will def. keep it as a different vehicle as referred too a few posts up..

I'm basically in the same boat as XJStryker. I'll be taking pictures and probably posting my own thread, plan on ripping out the carpet tomorrow and doing all of the welding Sunday.

For your information: A 4x5 foot piece of 18 gauge mild cold rolled steel sheet was $50 roughly and a 4x8' would have been around $80. These normally come in 4x10 sections and they will charge you a sheer charge to chop it. Call around to sheet metal fabricators and tell them you're trying to learn how to weld and restoring your old Jeep, ask if they have a remnants yard. If you're doing small repairs you might be able to snag the right piece. You don't get a discount for buying smaller or larger, it's all by the square foot with sheet metal. The above prices are for Alaska but shouldn't be that far off for other places. Of course, for all I know, in Texas a 4x10 sheet costs $50.

random question but how do the headlights on that thing work? top driving lights, bottom high beams? im putting the waggy front clip on and i was just curious
