Does anything else shut down electrial or just engine dies ?

Engine just dies(sometimes) but 98% of the time it's an instant jerk...I once caught it where the rpm would go straight to 0 then back up to the Rpms at 70mph....about 2k Rpms

I believe he stated at operating temperature or hotter. Thinking a heat soak issue with a sensor somewhere.

Sounds like old gm ignition module issue from old days . Id start it and start moving harness around see it it acts up also.

Yup. The fender mount one where the coil bolts to it. GM only used it for two years before integrating it with the distributer. I've had them act up so I carry a spare. Besides, there's nothing inside the distributor to go bad on the 2.5L. All ignition and timing is within the ICM or ECU on those.

It seems like when it hits operating temps it'll jerk/shutoff/turn back on and run smooth...

Id get it warm and start moving wires around simulate movement see if it acts up. Dont forget fuel pump ones.

I have tried that with no ill effects...
I had my dad move everything in the engine bay while I was under the truck moving wires from the fuel pump to the tail lights and trailer harness and no luck of it shutting off...
