Doesn't sound terrible but I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. I know it could be done a lot cheaper then that if you did it yourself and got the parts from rock auto or something but that's also take time and tools. So if u have the money why not pay someone to do it! Love to see some more pics of ur jeep though! People might wonder why I drive mine too, it's an 88 with 200+k miles on it and constantly has something that needs work but it's a jeep thing!

So hey guys need some help if possible. Tracked down the coolant leak and it's coming from the water pump. Went to order a new water pump but 2 types are coming up. One with a 3.72" hub and one with 2.31" hub height. Which do I need or how do I check to see?

and then new AC condenser while i had him there because the previous owner hit something and bent the front bumper frame inward so that it was touching the condenser. I don't think it really needed to be replaced but the thing's a 98 and it's got 150k miles. why not? They fixed the bumper anyhow so it's win win.

Do you think $730 parts/$650 in labor is decent? The guy working on it is nice but I think he's surprised I drive this thing.
Ouch! $730 in parts?
Luckily I have parts stores that are WAY cheaper than Napa, autozone, advance...
cooling parts can be had for under $200 depending where you shop...
Not sure about a/c condenser though....
Mechanics labor are always tricky...if they are going by the book it can get real steep fast!

Glad to see you've stuck around...

Your on rock auto? Check out your local parts store and ask for a part# and reference off those #s through the rockauto parts catalog....

I think he has the 4.0....
Rockauto.com has the "cheap" ones but they describe bore sizes....which is weird....

Removing them are easy...after swapping 2 axles and "heavy f-ers" reinstalling them is also the tedious part about it....especially ones with degree shims....
Since the Comanche is spring under its easier..,

Yeah still totally stuck. Lol. Yeah I was on rock auto looking and I say some have different hub heights so I went to my local autozone and they asked the same question. One has to With the flow direction and what type of belt. Long story short the guy at the parts store was no help so I'm still stuck not knowing without pulling mine off first.

What parts are needed for this? I've been thinking the idea of going to disc brakes
