Thats great to hear you guys got it worked out. I drove the XJ a total of 30' in and out of the shop to work on the trailer yesterday. Spent the day welding the bases and removable load bars for the trailer. As I add more weight to it, the more worried I am about the ZJ's D35 holding up. I've convinced myself I need a 8.8" for the ZJ, question is can I find a 3.55 Match or go 4.10 and have to change the front carrier & gears.
I think a few zjs came with 3.73s...
4.10s down here are a bit more complicated to find...
Last time I checked there were 30 explorers and 1 4.10 open axle
The rest were 80% 3.73s, 15% 3.23s , and 5% 3.55s

Thanks for the info. I have ABS which has the shafts with the good U-joints unlike other ZJ's with CV joints, I think the LP D30 R&P will live if I keep the 3.55 gears with more meat. It does okay with O/D off on the highway, which would probably spin same RPM w/ O/D on and 4.10's. Shouldn't hurt it to run O/D off correct? Also, thinking I'll throw a lunchbox in the front since I know an expert that can help me with it. ![Tongue Smilie](https://www.cherokeeforum.com/images/smilies/tongue_smilie.gif)

Glad to hear you got some work Gary, about damn time things look good for you.
Just got home about 15 min ago from the first night of Asst Tech Instructor. I can see there is a lot of potential in these kids. As their project, we will be building another Jeep stroker engine. As for what I will install it in, I will see. LOL. Goodnight everyone.
